How It Works

STEP 1

ENTRIES & NOMINATIONS

STEP 2

THE DECISION-MAKING PROCESS

STEP 3

THE AWARDS CEREMONY

STEP 1

The MCV/DEVELOP Women In Games Awards are open to those working in the UK games industry or related to the UK games industry,
for example those working on games published in the UK. With the shift in the date of this year’s event, we will be honouring incredible achievements between May 1st 2019 and June 30th 2020.

Submitting an entry is quick, easy and free of charge: just check out our array of categories, find your opportunity to shine
and then complete a simple application form using our online entry portal.

In the spirit of collaboration, nominations are highly encouraged – so make sure you put the spotlight on the amazing women you work alongside too!

STEP 2

Once entries and nominations close on Friday 4 September, the MCV/DEVELOP team will be tasked with reviewing each and every entry to ensure that the relevant criteria is met and curate a shortlist in each category. These shortlists will be announced on Friday 9 October.

These shortlists will then be put to our incredible judging panel, made up of specially selected industry experts and veterans
– we’ll be sharing more on this year’s line up very soon!

Our judges will go through each entrant on the shortlist to determine who will be picking up a coveted award at this year’s ceremony.

STEP 3

Usually, the MCV/DEVELOP Women In Games Awards event would take place in June but this year we’ve moved it back to November 25th and we’re very excited to announce that this year’s Women in Games Awards will now be livestreamed.

Although the decision as somewhat forced upon us, the outcome is looking brilliant. We’ve teamed up with game event production experts ADVNCR on the Awards, and thanks to them we’ll be doing a full live production on Wednesday 25 November.

All of our shortlisted nominees will be invited to join us on the stream too, and it’s shaping up to be an incredible event to celebrate the contribution of women to the UK games industry. And, now it’s online, we’re hoping you can all join us too (and bring your team along!).

The ceremony will start at 4pm and will be live streamed right here on the Women In Games Awards website and on Facebook.
